AIR program

The AIR project of Bamboo Curtain Studio is part of our Creative Arts Manpower Platform (CAMP).

BCS prefers artists to come with specific objective in mind when they apply to work and stay with us. We have five ceramic artists on site working long term, and a performance troupe¹ as our resident team. Currently there are three available spaces for short term stays, we welcome artists, curators, researchers from out of town to work on their concepts. We will custom design the orientation on individual basis, and lead visiting artists to see important exhibitions, shows and join in on culture conferences / events. We'll try to include our visiting artists in our spring and fall open studios, related group shows / discussions, and workshop with local communities. We will provide as much assistance and connections as we can, and help them connect to resources, incubate their projects, experiment on their ideas, make prototypes and show their final experimental works on or off site, then further help in contact to other related Asian culture spaces and international networks.

A. Sculpture Studio (Studio No. 3)

Size 24.8 pings (about 80 sq meters / 882 sq ft)
Rental: 15,000 NTD per month (about 500USD) / 5,000NTD (about 150USD) for one week, and 9,000NTD (about 300USD) for 2 weeks.

• Fully independent space, with individual access security pass and keys,
• Individual bedroom (with air conditioning) and bath room facilities,
• Working facilities for sculptors, electric kiln and kiln furniture, and working shelves,
• Remote broad band access

B. Multi-media Studios (Studio No. 6+7)

Size 20 pings each (about 65 sq meters / 712 sq ft) within a loft spaces of 70 pings
Rental: 5,000NTD (about 150 USD) monthly, 2,000 NTD (about 70 USD) for one week, and 3,500 for two weeks.

• Wood flooring, roll around shelves for flexible division between spaces,
• Remote broad band access,
• Two day beds provided. Shared bath room facilities,
• Mainly for non residential artists working on non polluting projects,
• Living arrangements can be arranged near subway station as needed,
• Front porch overlooking the river and the mountain, spacious roof garden, porch at back. Great for curators, writers, and composers.
